Why you will love the town of Thyon, Switzerland

The 4 Valleys is Switzerland's largest ski area, and resorts like Verbier are crowded and noisy. However, if you travel east, away from the chaos, you will eventually reach Thyon, a small resort that will seduce you with its beauty and charm. No, there isn't a wild nightlife here, but Thyon provides much better than that: tranquility, pristine nature, and some surprisingly delicious meals.

Who ought to go to Thyon?

Come to Thyon with your special someone since it is unmistakably romantic. You'll want to strike a balance between skiing or other outdoor activities and cuddling with your significant other indoors, perhaps in front of a fire. It might be the swirling snow, the mountain views, the fine wines, or the cozy atmosphere of Hotel Restaurant La Cambuse. When you're on vacation, it's okay to be a little lazy. It is a healing remedy for people who lead worn-out lives.

Thyon's wintertime activities :

In the winter of 2023–2024, a new gondola connecting Les Collins 1850 and Thyon 2000 will make it much simpler to ski directly from Thyon and connect to all areas of the 4 Valleys ski region. Genolet Sports offers ski and snowboard equipment rentals. The snowshoeing, with its routes winding through the alpine trees and along the piste's margins, is what makes Thyon truly unique. Snowshoeing with mountain guide Etienne Jaccottet is a fascinating education in everything from the impact of reintroducing wolves and bears to the reason that the majority of the local hare population is turning from white to brown due to climate change.

 Thyon’s summer activities !

Thyon's woodlands and meadows are beautiful, especially in the late spring and summer when the alpine flowers are in bloom in profusion. It's a great time of year for horseback riding and trekking, as well as seeing animals like marmots, ibex (about which you can learn more on the Ibex Trail), and deer. With the long days, you may spend a lot of time outdoors on mountain sides, taking breaks for a picnic or perhaps to sip herbal tea harvested from plants found in the meadows. Families will enjoy The Legendary King of the Forest, an outdoor "escape room" activity, as well as discovering Thyon's three scooter routes

If they have space available, you should book a room in Hotel Restaurant La Cambuse, which is considered to be Thyon's crowning achievement. It is a modest, family-run establishment at the base of the ski slope into Les Collons with breathtaking views that make it difficult to believe they are genuine.
